KALUA PELE (volcano)

Fill the bottle halfway with warm water

Add few drops of food coloring, preferably red.

Then, place about 6 drops of liquid detergent in the mixture,
2 tablespoons of baking soda and, finally, vinegar.

The reaction happens because the vinegar is an acid and baking soda is a base. When the vinegar is mixed with the bicarbonate, an acid-base chemical reaction takes place.

Our reagents are vinegar and sodium bicarbonate that when reacting produce water, sodium acetate (which is a salt) and
carbon dioxide (a gas).

Carbon dioxide, CO2, is the gas responsible for the bubbles that simulate the volcanic eruption.
